…out of the garage, that is! Then Charlie and Judy’s home, as well as, Bill’s since he still lived at home. The operation moved into some rental garages and before long, the first Family Pools retail store was built at 92 South Broadway in Lawrence. The building was designed with two rental spaces attached. As business grew, we took over one space then the other. Business continued to grow until we outgrew the entire building and moved down the street to where we are now at 70 South Broadway. Even now, we’re busting at the doors and definitely lacking for parking but we’re happy.

First, let’s have a special dedication to our founders and immediate family… In 1978, as Bill graduated from Central Catholic High School, he had to come to a decision as to what he wanted to do with his life. His parents had grand ideas of him joining the Air Force Academy, Bill already having been accepted in. This soon changed as Bill had other ideas….soon Family Pools & Patios, Inc. was established and on its way! Bill had prior pool service experience throughout high school; Charlie, his Dad (Mr. Personality Plus), was happy to head up sales; Judy, his Mom, was comfortable with the accounting; even his big sister, Kathy, offered to chip in. Although we are working remotely, we are offering non-contact services. Here are a few ways you can get in touch with us in the event you need water testing, products or in-store repairs. Water testing: leave your sample in a marked container in the drop off box located at the right side of the front door and we will contact you with the results.
