Safety Cover Maintenance
Water Level In Pool
The water level under the safety cover should be kept 15 to 18
inches from the patio level. Water levels above this could result in
overflow damage or damage to ceramic tiles. Water levels below 18
inches will put excess stress on the cover and will void your
warranty, as well as, possibly damage your cover, strapping, or
cover hardware. We carry a variety of submersible pumps, if you
dont already have one, to help you to maintain your water at the
proper level.
In the springtime, maintain the water at normal swimming height before
opening so that the water, from the melting snow and any rain, isn't over the
top of the skimmer allowing the water to flow over the top and into the ground
causing excess ground water and possible structural pool damage or floating
liners.
Cover Removal
Step 1 Insert rod over anchor bolt with heel facing cover.
Step 2 Pressing downward on rod, rotate 180 degrees so that
heel of rod is between anchor bolt and retaining ring. A slight tilt
of the rod toward the cover will slide the retaining ring from the
anchor bolt, thus releasing the cover.
Cover Installation into already installed anchors
Step 1 Insert the installation rod through the retaining ring
on the compression spring.
Step 2 Place heel of rod behind anchor bolt. Move rod handle
away from the cover edge, thus sliding the retaining ring over the
anchor bolt. Lift rod and cover. It is now secured to the anchor.
We now sell metal installation and removal rods to replace
the nylon rods that many of you may now have.
Storing the cover
The best way to fold the cover is fan folding. We recommend
storing the cover indoors away from rodents and ants with expensive
appetites. Some people build shelves as covers are safer up high
than on the floor. Better yet, we recommend that you find a plastic
bin or barrel with a lid to safely secure your cover when it is not
on the pool.
Anchors
In the spring, remove all anchors and flush out all the anchor
casings with a hose. This will prevent anchors from sticking when
you reinstall them. Do not spray them with WD40 or any type of
lubricant that will cause dirt and debris to stick to them making it
harder for them to screw in properly. When the cover is not in use,
close the anchors completely so they are flush against the deck.
This will eliminate the possibility of stubbed toes. Ouch. If an
anchor should become stuck, we sell a tool kit to extract the anchor
from the deck or you can make your own tool by trying to
follow the instructions.
