Mustard colored stains on the pool surface, extremely hard to rub off.

We recommend using Phoenix Algae Bomb along with Shock Treatment. The Shock Treatment will activate the Algae Bomb and the two will work together to kill the algae. Add the recommended amounts according to the Algae Bomb label and your pool size. Brush the affected areas. Run your filter overnight. Vacuum up any dead algae and backwash or clean out your filter. Repeat if necessary.

Mustard Algae is extremely stubborn so don't be surprised if you have to attack it more than once.

If you have a vinyl-lined pool, we recommend that you use AlgaeShield monthly as a strong routine algaecide to prevent this problem in the future.

If you have a gunite pool, we recommend either Family Pools Poly 60 Algaecide or Proteam Supreme as part of your maintenance program.
