DE Cartridge Combination Filter Pressure Problems

If you are having pressure problems, the first thing to check is the water valve screen, to make sure that it isn’t obstructed with anything.

Next step is to clean the filter. It is usually not necessary to acid wash the filter in the middle of the season.

Once the filter has been cleaned, insert and start the system back up. Check both the pressure at the filter and at the water valve. Generally, if everything is running properly, there will be a 10 psi difference between the two, the filter pressure being higher.

If the pressure isn’t good, the water valve itself might be bad and need to be rebuilt. We have rebuild kits in our store.

You can take the dome off and bring it to the Parts Department in either of our stores and we will rebuild it for you.
